Abstract: The operation characteristic (OC) analysis is one of the most important issues in product quality inspection. However, there is no quantitative evaluation index system for the OC analysis in the sampling analysis process. Thus, the existing methods for product quality inspection are suitable for onefactor analysis only. In this paper, a novel performance evaluation index system for the OC curve is proposed. It is called interceptbased index system, because the intercept on the OC curve is used to characterize the product quality. By this method, the OC can be evaluated quantitatively and sensitivity analysis becomes possible. Furthermore, it can deal with multivariable analysis. The proposed method is implemented and shown to be effective.
