Commodity Family Structure and Configuration Management for DLM Mode

Abstract: Now days, often the customers want to compare the functions, structures, and other attributes of the goods of different brands online. However, the online mass customization with manufacturerled mode cannot satisfy such a customer demand. With this in mind, mass customization with dealerled mode (DLM) is put forward in this paper. In order to present the expression ways and habits of customer demand, the concept of function and structure configuration elements are introduced. In this way, information dependence relationship between customer demand and product function and structure is built. Then, a model is built to describe the commodity group structure and customization configuration management in the distributors perspective. And the dependency between the configuration process and the distributors commodity family model is defined. A case problem is used to show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
