Abstract:

To improve the operation efficiency of the supply chain, the theory and method of bionics are employed and the process of gene regulation is simulated to optimize the logistics design of demand-driven supply chain. The mechanism of gene regulation is analyzed and the “Function-Behavior-Structure” (FBS) models are established. Further, similar characteristics between the demand-driven supply chain logistics and the process of gene regulation are identified. On this basis, the bionic design framework is presented including four main parts, i.e., demand-driven response mechanism of the supply chain logistics, facility location and information transfer process as well as the logistics path. The study shows that the bionic design can optimize the operation process of the supply chain logistics on the whole and enhance the operation efficiency.
