Abstract: Innovation is the driving force for enterprise development and an effective means to improve organizational performance. Based on the niche theory, a study of the impact mechanism of architectural innovation on organizational performance is conducted, examining the mediating role of knowledge deconstruction/knowledge reconstruction and the moderating role of knowledge sharing/resource acquisition. A multi-wave study of 221 manufacturing companies finds that architectural innovation positively affects organizational performance; that knowledge deconstruction and knowledge reconstruction play mediating roles; that knowledge sharing moderates the relationship between architectural innovation and knowledge deconstruction/knowledge reconstruction, and also moderates the indirect relationships between architectural innovation and organizational performance (via knowledge deconstruction/knowledge reconstruction); and that resource acquisition moderates the relationship between architectural innovation and knowledge reconstruction, and also moderates the indirect relationship between architectural innovation and organizational performance (via knowledge reconstruction).
