Abstract: A research is conducted on the problem of picking jams in the single block manual operation system during the picking process by multiple pickers, a picking path model based on cooperation is built, and picking jams reduced by exchanging picking orders and dynamically adjusting the picking path. The case results show that, compared with the S-type strategy, it is found that the cooperation strategy has obvious advantages in reducing picking jams and shortening order service time. Finally, from the perspective of controllable factors affecting the efficiency of the picking operation, a sensitivity analysis is carried out to understand the specific performance of the cooperation strategy to optimize the efficiency of the picking operation in different situations.

Key words: manual operation system, picking jam, S-type strategy, cooperative strategy
