A Game Model for the Government's and Enterprises' Behavior Based on Low-Carbonization Supply Chain
    Li Yuan1,2, Zhao Dao-zhi1
    2013, 16 (4):  1-6.
    Abstract ( 1392 )   Save
Based on low-carbonization supply chain, the effects of levying carbon tax on enterprises'emission reduction behavior are analyzed and a game model between them is developed. The converse method is used to solve this problem. By this method, first, the government initiates the carbon tax rate, then, the manufacturers make the decision on the optimal rate of emission reduction; and third the manufacturers set the prices of products. It shows that levying carbon tax plays a positive role in promoting the enterprises to reduce the carbon emission. With the carbon rate tax increasing year by year, the emission reduction are increased drastically (from 4.02% to 20.21%), while the prices are changed slowly. The low-carbon preference of consumers has significant effect on the product prices, but not on the emission reduction. A numerical case is presented to test the effects of the variation for different factors. The results provide technical guidance and data support for the government and manufacturers to make strategy decision.

A Network Optimization Model for Dual-Channel Two-Echelon Supply Chain with Carbon Emission Constraints
Yao Man, Wang Chuan-xu, Xu Chang-yan
    2013, 16 (4):  7-13.
    Abstract ( 1368 )   Save
With the development of electronic commerce and carbon emission constraints, a two-echelon dual-channel supply chain network composed of manufacturers, retailers, and markets is formed. With the physical (P) and Internet (I) transaction channels considered, there are five combined transaction ways. They are represented by P-P, P-I, I-P, I-I, and I. Also five criteria of supply chain performance evaluation are proposed. They are cost, carbon emission, late delivery percentage, rejection percentage, and demand. The criteria with higher priorities have higher levels of satisfaction. Based on fuzzy demands of the markets, a multi-objective network optimization model is proposed. The objectives include minimization of total cost of the supply chain, total carbon emission, and the number of late delivered items and rejected items. The optimal solutions are found by using the α-cut values to balance the tradeoffs between the anticipation levels of goal values and the priorities of the five criteria. Impacts of carbon emission and the pattern of electronic commerce on the optimal transaction ways and quota allocations in the supply chain are analyzed. A numerical example is given to verify the application of the model.

Gao Peng, Xie Yin-cheng, Gao Jie
    2013, 16 (4):  14-19.
    Abstract ( 1423 )   Save
A three-level patent licensed closed loop supply chain system composed of one original manufacturer, two recover manufacturers, and two retailers is addressed in this paper. For such a supply chain system, based on the game theory, the pricing problem is studied. Result shows that the increase of saving cost results in the increase of unit patent license fee, while the increase of reproduction rate results in the decrease of unit patent license fee. Also, in sense of operation efficiency, centralized decision making is better than decentralized decision making. Finally, a revenue and expense sharing contract (RAESC) is proposed to coordinate the closed-loop supply chain.

    Li Qing, Xiao Ren-bin
    2013, 16 (4):  20-27.
    Abstract ( 1352 )   Save
The adaptive coordination problem of multicycle closed-loop supply chain for single consumer electronic product in uncertain environment is discussed. With an auto-control model, the source of vulnerability of consumer electronic product supply chain is studied. A self-adaptive fuzzy-PID coordination model with compensation is proposed. An application case is given to verify the proposed method. Result shows that the proposed model increases the response capacity of supply chain to risks at different stages of the product. The system returns to the equilibrium in only 3 weeks after encountering a significant risk. The steady-state error of inventory in the process of the entire life cycle of the product is kept in ± 5% or less. There is no requirement of excessive inventory redundancy. Thus, it makes the supply chain more efficient.

    Zhang Xu-mei1,2, Zhao Min1,2, Dan Bin1,2
    2013, 16 (4):  28-32.
    Abstract ( 1458 )   Save
The dynamic competition process of duopoly manufacturers with bounded rationality and service differentiation is addressed in this paper. With service competition considered, by using Cournot duopoly model, a repeated game model is established for the problem. Based on the model, balanced condition is analyzed in view of system evolution. With the balanced condition, a numerical simulation is performed. By numerical simulation, the influence of duopoly rationality and service level on duopoly manufacturers is analyzed. It shows that when the competition between duopoly manufacturers with bounded rationality enters a chaotic state, level of service and duopoly profit are not absolutely positively correlated. The best choice for duopoly manufacturers is to strictly control the output adjustment speed based on the comprehensive analysis of duopoly manufacturers' service levels and output competition strategy such that excessive competition is avoided and a system steady equilibrium is maintained.

Research on Duopoly Price and Advertising Game
    Tang Jian1, Wang Xian-jia2
    2013, 16 (4):  33-37.
    Abstract ( 1351 )   Save
In this paper, by using game theory, the twodimensional relationship between advertisement and product price in duopoly competition is discussed. A mathematical model is developed and solved to optimize advertising cost and price at the steady state. With the model and examples, sensitivity analysis is conducted. Results show that, for competing manufacturers with the same advertising cost, the greater the market base a manufacturer has, the higher product price and advertising investment, and greater market demands are. The manufacturers who have small market base are in a disadvantage position in both demands and profits. Thus, strengthening the advertising competition is beneficial to manufacturers with a large market base, while enhancing price competition is beneficial to manufacturers with a small market base.

A Research on Overconfident Newsvendor Model
Xie Yong, Meng Chu, Wang Hong-wei
    2013, 16 (4):  38-43.
    Abstract ( 1674 )   Save
An overconfident newsvendor model is developed by defining the overconfidence as the newsvendor’s overprecision about the true demand. Closed-form optimal order quantity of the overconfident newsvendor is derived. A linear relationship between the optimal order quantity and that obtained from the benchmark newsvendor model is established. Then, the impact of overconfidence level on order bias and profit loss is analyzed. It is found that, as the overconfidence level increases, the overconfident newsvendor’s optimal order deviates far away from the benchmark newsvendor’s optimal order. Furthermore, the profit loss resulting from the overconfident is an increasingly convex function of the overconfidence level. Finally, a numerical example demonstrates the validity of the proposed model and results.

    Wang Ming-liang
    2013, 16 (4):  44-48.
    Abstract ( 1265 )   Save
To strengthen corporate social responsibility, theories, such as bargaining models and replicated dynamic equations, are used to analyze corporate social responsibility with relative data collected in China. Both asymmetric and evolutionary game models are developed for this problem. With them, mechanism of strategy equilibrium implemented by related parties and “governmentcorporate” game stable strategy implementation process in unequal power condition are analyzed. Results indicate that effective government involvement is the key for reversing the situation where enterprises fail to bear social responsibility in unequal conditions. This evolution trend depends on the co-integration among the reputation gains from the positive behavior of the enterprises, the cost of the illegal behaviors, and the reputation loss from negative behaviors.

    2013, 16 (4):  56-61.
    Abstract ( 1312 )   Save
The complex structure in enterprises has a pivotal effect on enterprise overall performance. In this paper, performance evaluation for enterprises with parallel structure is studied. An integrated model with support vector machine (SVM) classifier and data envelopment analysis (DEA) is proposed. First, the DEA efficiency for each internal department in enterprises is analyzed and used as classification criterion and training data. Then, SVM classifier is applied to classify all departments based on class criterion. Finally, the classification information is integrated into the parallel DEA models so that the overall performance efficiency for enterprises with parallel structure is figured out. With an empirical analysis, the practicality, effectiveness, and operability are testified by using the integrated model. This model provides a referential analytic tool for measuring the enterprises with parallel structure.

    2013, 16 (4):  85-91.
    Abstract ( 1343 )   Save
Based on the concept of quick response manufacturing (QRM), the operation mechanism of paired-cell overlapping loops of cards with authorization (POLCA) is analyzed. A fine division method of production periods is proposed to improve the average of the Little's Law for lead time and the number of work in process (WIP). Then a novel mathematical programming formulation is developed for the determination of the number of POLCA cards. By this model, it can minimize the production cost that is a weighted combination of the number of POLCA cards. The global optimal number of POLCA cards is found such that the system operates under high efficiency. By two examples, it shows that the model is reasonable and valid for two different operational modes. The proposed method is helpful for the mangers to accurately and effectively control the whole POLCA system for QRM. 

    Abstract ( 1224 )   Save
The relationship between product design structure matrix, adjacency matrix, and reachable matrix is analyzed. Then, based on an interpretative structural model, a method is proposed to predict engineering change propagation. By this method, the reachable matrix is divided into a number of areas in a hierarchical way such that a multi-level hierarchical graph of changing tasks is established. In this way, the propagation scope and impact relation is clearly revealed. Further, fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (AHP) is used to evaluate the impact degree between changing tasks. The propagation scope and impact degree between some assembly changing tasks of one particular aircraft model are analyzed to demonstrate the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed method.

    Abstract ( 1421 )   Save
The CC-HCR (continous costing hot-charge rolling) process in the steelmaking continuous casting production can be described as a kind of two-stage hybrid flow shop scheduling problem. A static and discrete-time integer programming model is established for it. By analyzing the characteristics of the problem in a new viewpoint, it turns out to be a three-stage hybrid flow shop scheduling problem with no-wait constraint. On this basis, two heuristic algorithms named JB and JBN are proposed. For the former, jobs are processed by problem-dependent heuristic rules. The backtracking is used to solve the constraints of limited buffers. For the latter, it is combined with NEH, which minimizes the idle time at the first stage as the objective function, adjusts the job sequence at the second stage, and improves the quality of the solution at the third stage. Furthermore, computational experiments are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of these algorithms and it shows that they are feasible and effective. 

    2013, 16 (4):  117-121.
    Abstract ( 1652 )   Save
A research is conducted on the zoning problem of part distribution picking area for assembly lines with pull production. In such a set parts supply (SPS) distribution mode, to balance the picking time of each zone and identify production tact (TT), a mathematical model containing TT is established. By solving this problem to minimize the objective function, the optimal number of zones is obtained. Then, a heuristic algorithm is put forward. It optimizes the part picking frequency and sequence. By this method, it presents a rule to determine the location distribution. At last, an exemplary research is made. For this example, when TT is 160 s and 80 s, the result shows that the above two objectives are realized in reasonable error. Thus, with the changing of TT, one can flexibly change the number of picking zones. The proposed method provides a theoretical reference for decision-makers to realize shojinka in job site and reduce picking cost. 
