A Comparison of Production Strategies for Remanufacturing System Based on Markov Analysis
    Wang Yi1,2, Sun Lin-yan3, Zhang Sheng-hao3
    2014, 17 (4):  1-06.
    Abstract ( 1599 )   Save
The production strategies of a remanufacturing system with reproduction and disposal are studied. In such a manufacturing system, the return product is disassembled into the treated waste, raw materials, or spare parts in a dismantling process. For the entire re-manufacturing system, two production policies are proposed. One is to produce until part inventory reaches its capacity, the other is to produce until part inventory reaches a critical stock point. By using Markov analysis, the two policies are evaluated. A numerical experiment is used to compares the two policies.

    Zhao Yong-qiang
    2014, 17 (4):  7-12.
    Abstract ( 1454 )   Save
The reliable equipment preventive maintenance level and excellent product quality assurance ability are important for manufacturing enterprises. Most existing studies focus on the relationship between management and business performance. Based on the review of quality control and maintenance management, the influence of maintenance management model on process quality control is studied by taking continuous production in manufacturing industry in this paper. The reflection of the relationships between different factors and the change of relationship is put forward by using research hypotheses. The relationship and hypothetical framework are described and analyzed by structural equation modeling (SEM). Studies show that basic maintenance management activities have indirect effects on maintenance performance. Total productive maintenance (TPM) and reliability centered maintenance (RCM) have strong direct effect on the maintenance performance with path coefficients being 0.346, 0.717. Equipment maintenance performances have effect on the performance of process quality control with path coefficients being 0.922. The result shows that manufacturing enterprises should optimize the equipment preventive maintenance system for improving product quality.

A Study on MTO Online Manufacturers’ Guaranteed Delivery Time Model with Order Batching
Liu Lei, Wang Yun-sheng, Zhu Qiang-gang
    2014, 17 (4):  13-17.
    Abstract ( 1468 )   Save
For make-to-order (MTO) on-line manufacturers, one of the most popular timebased competitive strategies is to widely advertise a uniform delivery time “guarantee” to all the customers. While providing time guarantee can be an effective marketing approach, it is critical for firms to reduce lead time to keep the promise. Decreasing lot size in batching is one of the most important levers to compress lead time in operations. An online manufacturers’ guaranteed delivery time model with order batching is established. The effects of batch processing setup cost, unit inventory holding cost, and unit compression cost of transportation time are analyzed. Some analytic results are provided, and numerical examples are conducted to provide further insight into the problem. The results indicate that when batch processing setup cost, unit inventory holding cost, or unit compression cost of transportation time increase, the online manufacturer should decrease the lot size and shorten the guaranteed delivery time.

    2014, 17 (4):  29-34.
    Abstract ( 1830 )   Save
Uncertainty on transportation time is an important aspect of the fourth party logistics (4PL) routing problem. Reliability theory is applied to routing optimization for this problem. Based on multi-graph, a chance constrained programming model for routing optimization problem of 4PL is set up. In this model, it takes the minimum cost as objective and the time reliability as constraint. By analyzing the characteristics of the problem, a messy genetic algorithm with double arrays encoding is developed. The performance of the algorithm is tested by examples. Experimental results demonstrate the significance of the model as well as the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. According to the time reliability requirements of the customers, the algorithm can quickly and effectively provide the optimal solution to decision-makers.

Time Mapping Algorithm for Jobshop Scheduling
    Huang Xue-wen, Shi Qing-tao, Zhao Xing-ye
    2014, 17 (4):  35-41.
    Abstract ( 1521 )   Save
The work calendar and shift in realistic jobshop production environment split the effective work time of machine into a discrete state. In order to reduce the computational complexity of allocating the start and end time of a process, a time mapping algorithm (TMA) is proposed. The quick switch from discrete time spans to integral continuous intervals and from integral continuous intervals to discrete time spans is realized by the algorithm. Taking genetic algorithm (GA) scheduling as an example, the technology of how to integrate this algorithm with scheduling algorithms is also analyzed. The analysis illustrates that, compared with the scheduling algorithm without TMA, TMA can dramatically reduce the computational complexity of scheduling on allocating the start and end time of a process. By the algorithm, calculation time is reduced by 39.7% and the efficiency of scheduling is improved.

Revenue Sharing Mechanism for Risk-Averse Airline Alliances
    Li Shi-ping, Cui Yi
    2014, 17 (4):  47-53.
    Abstract ( 1490 )   Save
An airline alliance network consisting of two risk-averse airlines is addressed in this paper. A decisionmaking model for such a network is proposed. By using the meanstandard deviation risk measure criteria, a decision-making objective function for the airline alliance members is also established. First, an equilibrium model in the network is analyzed under the centralized decision-making. It is found that the risk aversion characteristics of airlines reduce ticket prices of airlines, thereby reducing the overall effectiveness of the airline alliances. Second, under the revenue sharing mechanism, a decentralized decision-making model in the airline alliance network is investigated. Result shows that revenue sharing mechanism can maximize not only the effectiveness of the individual alliance members, but also maximize the overall effectiveness of airline alliances. The revenue sharing mechanism can improve the performance of airline alliance members, which is closely related to the price elasticity coefficient, the ratio of operating costs in the domestic and international routes, the airline’s risk aversion and the revenue sharing coefficient. In addition, numerical results determine that the effects of different parameters on the performance levels of the airline alliance members are different under the revenue sharing mechanisms.

    2014, 17 (4):  54-62.
    Abstract ( 1560 )   Save
Based on a multiple sourcing strategy, a research is conducted on the multiechelon supply chain configuration (SCC) problem. Supply chain with uncertain number of multiple supplier options (such as more than two options) is studied. Sourcing proportion control factor (SPCF) is proposed as a multiple sourcing control mechanism. An approach based on ANP and TOPSIS is put forward to calculate the SPCF. Service time and actual sourcing proportion are adopted as two major decision variables to establish an SCC model for multiechelon supply chain. An improved Genetic Algorithm using mixed coding method of integer and real variable is proposed to solve the problem. Both the model and the algorithm are verified by demonstrative cases. At last, sensitivity analyses are conducted with a series of SPCF and several managerial insights drawn.

Effects of Fairness Concerns on Supply Chain Coordination and Contract Design
    Niu Zhan-wen, Yu Yan-qing, He long-fei
    2014, 17 (4):  63-69.
    Abstract ( 3452 )   Save
Incorporating fairness concerns into supply chain management is an important research direction to behavior operation management. Fairness concerns are divided into altruism preference and egoism preference, and the impact of different fairness concerns on supply chain coordination of wholesale price contract and side-payment self-enforcing contract is studied. And it shows that although supply chain cannot coordinate when the retailer seeks altruism, it will help its egoism and make its optimal decision much closer to the system; when the retailer seeks egoism, it will do harm to both its altruism and egoism, getting its optimal decision further away from the system. A numerical example is given to verify the effectiveness of the conclusion. What’s more, it also shows that fairness concerns are not related to the coefficients of the sidepayment function.

Study on Factors Influencing the Incentive Mechanism of Supply Chain and Their Differences on a Dynamic Perspective
    Wang Li1, Hu Qiong2
    2014, 17 (4):  70-77.
    Abstract ( 1478 )   Save
Based on a systematic perspective comprised of economic, “spiritual”, and institutional constraints, a supply chain influencing factor system is proposed. Then, a theoretically hypothesized model of factors is built via the Structural Equation Model method. By following the evolution of partnership, differences of all factors of three aspects are compared and the law of differences is further explored. It shows that profit allocation has always exerted a significant positive impact on incentive mechanism building. The influence is weakening with the evolution of partnership, and special investment plays an increasingly significant positive role in growth and maturity phases. The positive impact of spiritual factors increases, trust is the major positive factor in maturity. Institutional factors have significant impact on mechanism building only in growth phase. These results provide important basis for scientific incentive mechanism building and dynamic adjustment of supply chain.

Pricing Decisions for Manufacturerdriven Closedloop Supply Chain with Fairness Concerns
    DING Xue-feng, WEI Fang-fang
    2014, 17 (4):  78-84.
    Abstract ( 1463 )   Save
Fairness concern is introduced into a closed-loop supply-chain and supply-chain strategy for such a supply chain is studied. The decisionmaking strategy of supplychain members is analyzed under two situations: only the manufacturer cares about the fairness and only the retailer is concerned about the equity. The influence of the preference coefficient on the recovery rate and system profit of supplychain under the two different concern subjects is compared. Studies show that the fairness preference of the manufacturer improves both the wholesale and retail price to reduce the recovery rate and profit on both sides. The fairness preference of the retailer reduces the wholesale price, retail price, and the recovery rate, but improves its own profit. At the same time, it is found that decision makers cannot blindly pursue fairness, which may lead to failure of the supply chain and loss of social welfare.

    Qin Yan-hong1, Yin Ya-xian2, Wei Guang-xing2
    2014, 17 (4):  85-90.
    Abstract ( 3422 )   Save
A two-stage supply chain composed of a supplier and a retailer is considered. A Stackelberg game model is established for such a supply chain by introducing fairness preference under a buy-back contract. Then, by a backward induction method, a research is conducted on how wholesale price is decided, whether buyback contract can achieve coordination, and how fairness preference impacts the wholesale price. Results show that when the retailer and the supplier are playing Stackelberg game, a buyback contract cannot coordinate the supply chain at all whether they consider fairness preference or not. The wholesale price decreases as the retailer’s fairness preference increases, but it increases as the supplier’s fairness preference increases.

Zeng Ming, Ding Shi, Wang Zhijie, Liu Shan-shan, Xue Song
    2014, 17 (4):  91-95.
    Abstract ( 1541 )   Save
Security inputoutput benefit of power supply enterprise is a complicated system with multiple input and output. It is necessary to analyze the efficiency of the security input output to develop improvement measures to improve the security investment management level. Seven input indexes and two output indexes are selected on the basis of the definition of power supply enterprise’s security investment and security benefit. Then, a model of power supply enterprise’s security input and output is established based on data envelopment analysis (DEA). The model is applied to a case study and found that some of the power supply enterprises have low efficiency in security inputoutput and they need to optimize the use of security investment. The result shows that the DEA method can evaluate the efficiency of security inputoutput for power supply enterprise and find the insufficiency in optimizing safety input costs.

On the Efficiency Evaluation Methodology for Regional Logistics Based on Complex Model of Data Envelopment Analysis and System Simulation
    Liao Zhi-gao1, Xu Ming-hui 1, Xu Jiu-ping2
    2014, 17 (4):  96-102.
    Abstract ( 1595 )   Save
The objective of this paper is to analyze and evaluate the current development status and make a prediction of further development for regional logistics in Beibu Gulf of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. A complex model is established by combining data envelopment analysis and system dynamics (SD), with the regional logistics supply and demand index system in focus. The slack variables are essential to the experiment for the change of DEA input factors, which shows that the ideal efficiency value might not be achieved in the real process. However, the proportion of input index can be adjusted to accommodate the valid target. Besides, the rate of logistic supply and demand is introduced to demonstrate the ideal development. The rate is produced by simulated value in the model SD, which can be deemed as a benchmark for logistic development of Beibu Gulf in the future.

    2014, 17 (4):  111-115.
    Abstract ( 1726 )   Save
Surgery time duration estimation is the premise and basis of operation room scheduling. In order to estimate the surgery duration time accurately and provide effective information for operation room scheduling, by using the cross validation method to optimize the support vector machine parameter, a cross validation and support vector machine estimation model (CVSVM) is built. In order to verify the performance of the model, the model is compared with the radial basis function (RBF) neural networks model, and a case of eye cornea transplant of a hospital is used to validate the model. Results show that, in comparison with the RBF model, the mean absolute percentage error of CVSVM is below 11% and the relative error is below 23%, confirming the effectiveness of the model and providing an effective method to estimate surgery time duration.

Traffic Signal Control Method and Simulation Based on Traffic Density in Cooperative Vehicle Infrastructure System
    Lin Xiao-hui
    2014, 17 (4):  123-128.
    Abstract ( 1362 )   Save
In a cooperative vehicle infrastructure system (CVIS), the road site unit can get the information about the position and speed of vehicles, which provides opportunities and conditions for improving traffic signal control. A single intersection is taken as the research object in this paper. A traffic signal control method is proposed based on traffic density in the CVIS by means of induction control method. This algorithm can choose the direction of flow based on the biggest traffic density of the import lanes, and determine entrance green time by the queue dissipation time. In order to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm, HumenLiansheng intersection is taken as an example. Simulation models for the peak, flat peak, and low peak are built respectively by using the Vissim traffic simulation software. Analysis is also conducted to evaluate the traffic signal control indexes for the proposed algorithm, the induction control method, and the fix control mode under the same traffic demand. These indexes include the average travel time, the average delay time, the average number of stops, and the average queue length. Results show that, compared with induction control method and the fixed control mode, all the traffic signal control indexes obtained by the proposed algorithm are obviously improved under different demands.

    2014, 17 (4):  129-138.
    Abstract ( 1338 )   Save
With the nature of hybrid system for an oil refinery, the modeling of oil refining system is one of the most difficult problems in operating a refinery process. For the convenience of analysis of such a system, a controlledcoloredtimed Petri net (CCTPN) model is proposed for modeling crude oil operations. The CCTPN is extended to model dualpipeline crude oil transportation system with high/low fusion point oil. With a variety of practical production constraints, especially the high fusion point oil transportation constraints, the properties of the system are analyzed. Then, with a modular modeling approach and by decomposing the system into several subproblems, a Petri net model is developed such that the system is modeled in a hierarchical way, making the model compact. With this model, the system behavior can be effectively analyzed. Moreover, it can be used as an assistant tool for verifying the logistics information and shortterm scheduling.

Nonlinear FSVM with Multikernel Function for Equipment Fault Diagnosis
    Wang Yu-fan, Zhang Shu-juan
    2014, 17 (4):  139-144.
    Abstract ( 1553 )   Save
A fuzzy support vector machine (FSVM) is proposed to improve the accuracy of equipment fault diagnosis. FSVM is good at dealing with an equipment fault system or data with ambiguous characters. When equipment fault data have heterogeneous or irregular and uneven distribution characteristics, satisfactory results cannot be obtained by using a traditional FSVM based on single kernel. To overcome this drawback, a FSVM algorithm based on multikernel function is proposed to deal with equipment fault diagnosis. By applying this method to the rolling bearing fault diagnosis, the test result shows that this method is superior to an original FSVM and can identify rolling bearing fault patterns more effectively.
