Application of Ergonomics to Automotive Design

In automotive design and development, it is crucial to enhance the functions of an automotive in the sense of ergonomics. This paper introduces how ergonomics is used to improve the functions, such as field of vision, comfortableness of sitting position, convenience of peoples entry or exit, ease for opening engine cover and back door, and so on. With the authors work experience in automotive design, guidelines are also presented for automotive design reference.
