    A Fuzzy Evaluation Method for Measuring the Reliability of New Product Development Process

    • In a new product development (NPD) process, it is difficult to obtain reliability data. To solve this problem, a fuzzy scoring method is employed to get the reliability data. Based on IDEF0 (Integrated Definition for Function Modeling), a fuzzy influencing matrix is constructed by using fuzzy evaluation method. With expert experience, the reliability of the NPD process is assessed by taking quality of the “output” as process reliability. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively assess not only the reliability of the NPD process, but also quantitatively ascertain critical factors that influence the reliability of the NPD process.
