Abstract: The issue of energy saving in an oil field is discussed. An IDEF (ICAM Definition) model is developed for the system by analyzing the crude oil production process. With this model, key points of energy consumption are identified by statistically analyzing the energy consumption rate of the subprocesses. Then, measures are presented to reduce energy consumption. In this way, the energy saving goal can be realized by reducing the energy consumption of the key subprocesses. An industrial case study is given to show the application of the proposed method.
Key words: ICAM Definition(IDEF), energy saving, goal management
