Project-based Employees’ Job Characteristics, WorkFamily Conflict,  and Need for Recovery Relations in Construction Industry

Abstract: Construction projects and their production particularities determine that the Projectbased employees′ workfamily conflict and need for recovery are particularly prominent, which will directly affect Projectbased employees′ job satisfaction and performance. Based on the review of existing literature, a conceptual model built by incorporating working conditions, workfamily conflict and need for recovery through an empirical study involving 510 projectbased employees. The results show that job demand has an indirect positive impact on the need for recovery through workfamily conflict, while job support can effectively alleviate the recovery needs.
