Abstract: It is the basic foundation for reconditioning the overhead transmission line to make the right evaluation of its status. The assessment indicator system is built based on the organizational structure and different types of mechanical faults in operation of overhead transmission lines. At the same time, a set pair analysis model is established based on set pair analysis when the status of overhead transmission line is unstable. Based on a full consideration of the balance among evaluation indicators and the influence of indicator changes, the analytic hierarchy process and entropy-weight method are used to calculate the comprehensive weight among all the indicators, and then each part and the whole system of overhead transmission line analyzed. At last, a case analysis proves the effectiveness of the new method which uses the set pair analysis method to evaluate the status of overhead transmission line.
