Abstract:  Through studying the specific processes of material distribution of production lines, considering idling period caused by the stagnation of information and materials, and taking operating cost of distribution center into account, cost models of ration, regular and immediate distribution are respectively established applying the theory of stochastic process, and a quantitative analysis made for the optimal strategies of the three distribution forms. Moreover, with a case study, the three distribution methods are discussed from the perspective of optimal strategies and management condition, which proves that ration distribution is always the best, and that in some special situations regular distribution or immediate distribution is the best. Thus a viable scientific basis for choosing the suitable distribution form in the actual operation is provided to enterprises.
